Survey Question: Can we ever recover the depleted Ozone Layer?
I am conducting a survey for our school project. So it would be very helpful if you provide me with your educational level, experience, background and age.
Do you think we'd ever be able to recover the depleted Ozone layer?
Survey Question: Can we ever recover the depleted Ozone Layer?
Actually, the ozone has been recovering nicely. I recently read an article that stated the "hole" in the ozone layer over Antarctica is roughly 50% smaller than it was at its largest point.
Reply:The ozone layer that protects the earth from the effects of UV rays from the sun, is constantly changing. Global conditions such as pitch within our orbit as well as activities on earth pertaining to pollution etc. causes the protection levels to change over the months.
Needless to say, the angle in which the earth rotates on is axis will cause various regions of the earth to be less or more protected throughout the seasons.
Industrialization within countries that are producing products important to our existence have regional effects on atmospheric conditions within the ozone layer as well as weather patterns on earth.
The natural replenishing effects that mother nature goes through with reproduction of plant matter helps ensure a balance to continue the levels of which the ozone layer has above the earth.
Although governments and green peace activists lash out over the so called depleation of the ozone layer through the effects of mankind , little can be done by governments to change that. That however, doesn't seem to stop the governments from imposing taxes said to be directed towards an enviromental cure all the while being spent on the lavish lifestyles of Governments.
No government has within it's power a means of improving the quality of the ozone layer. All they have, and succeed in doing, is taxing the consumer for using products that they claim damages the ozone layer. All the while, the monies they collect in these taxes, end up going nowhere near the intended place it was implimented for.
As to your initial question of whether or not we can recover the ozone layer, the answer is simply yes. The answer can be hampered though if we continue to send space ships into orbit to search for the existance of water on a planet that will never be able to support human existance.
It has been stated, that every time the space agencies around the world, send a space ship into orbit, the damages done by each pass through the ozone layer is equal to the effects of ALL internal combustion engines worldwide running for a 10 year period. Given the fact that would equate to 20 years damages on each mission due to exit and re-entry we need to curtail our space missions and deal with matters more closer to earth.
Reply:its a natural process, its just that the process is slow and the rate of harm is more,,but still i believe that man will understand it soon and will bring ozone back to normal level..
Reply:yes ,we can prevent it by the use of CFLS instead of ordinary bulbs.we should also pass the harmful gases coming out from factories into the purification chamber(costly !! but worth!!!!!!!!!!!)we should find some other means of fuel which gives less harmful gases than the gases produced now.
the research centers have also taken measures to prevent the depletion layer .

Ozone-depleting chemicals in Finland
The manufacturing, marketing, use and export of ozone-depleting substances and products that contain them are generally prohibited in Finland. Exceptions include the unavoidable use of such products for certain analytical processes in laboratories, in asthmatics’ inhalers, and in the maintenance of refrigeration equipment that contains HCFC compounds. Ozone-depleting substances have never been manufactured in Finland.
Equipment in use in Finland may still contain ozone-depleting substances, particularly in refrigerants and insulation foams. When no longer in use, ozone-depleting substances and any equipment or materials containing them are classified in Finland as hazardous wastes.
Action to prevent ozone depletion
Two major international agreements aim to protect the ozone layer. The Vienna Convention sets out a framework for scientific and technical co-operation related to the monitoring of the ozone layer; while the Montreal Protocol controls the manufacture, use and trading of ozone-depleting substances. Finland has ratified the Vienna Convention (in 1986), and the Montreal Protocol (in 1988), as well as the Protocol’s four subsequent amendments.
Finland has additionally transposed the EC Regulation on ozone-depleting substances, which ensures that the requirements of the Montreal Protocol are met in the European Community, and also includes some stricter controls than those set in the Protocol. The European Commission issues permits and quotas related to imports of ozone-depleting substances to Finland on the basis of this Regulation.
Finland’s national legislation sets out detailed controls over the maintenance and safe disposal of equipment containing ozone-depleting substances, including requirements related to the competence of maintenance and waste disposal staff.
Controls over the use of ozone-depleting substances in Finland are supervised by the authorities as defined in the Environmental Protection Act, the Waste Act and the Chemicals Act.
thank you
Reply:The Ozone layer is recovering since the adoption of the Montreal protocol and the banning of CFCs etc that destroyed it http://www.undp.org/chemicals/montrealpr...
Please note ozone depletion is not connected to climate change http://www.ipcc.ch, except in a small and indirect way.
Reply:It is already recovering. Cosmic radiation is continuously creating ozone in the upper atmosphere, and the manmade chemicals which contribute to the depletion are breaking down year by year.

Reply:In theory we could recover the depleted ozone layer. Actually, in theory we could reverse all of the damage we have done to the environment. However, in actuality we can not recover the ozone layer or any other damage we have done to the environment. This is because of the extreme costs and measures that would have to be taken to do so. It would cost billions of dollars to fix the problems, and it would take radical changes in the human population and the way we do things. Hope this helps you out!

What questions should I ask in a food/restaurant survey?
Were you made to feel at home?
Do you plan to return?
Will you tell others about your experience here?
Was your plate clean, silverware polished, and glass sparkling?
Reply:If you're sending a survey, try giving a brief description of your place, and then listing the qualities you feel are important, and ask your prospective customer to rate them in order of preference or importance. Then provide a space for specific comments.
Reply:Quality of the food, service, atmosphere, price related to quality of the food obtain, and in the end ask if they would come back to the restaurant. Do not complicate yourself with open questions, so try to make short questionary, and always with anwers that are yes or no, or very good, good, average, bad, very bad (or similar). Good Luck

I am doing a survey on large corporations, likewalmart, and need to have an idea of what kind questions to ask
the questionair is multi choice, like a,b,c,or d. any question would be helpful, and my main quetion is what are your attitudes towards large corps. coming to your city...so questions need to be both positive or negative. this is just for a class i am in so it is not a highend survey!
I am doing a survey on large corporations, likewalmart, and need to have an idea of what kind questions to ask
*Do the stores in your community usually stock the items you need on regular basis?
*Do you mind driving to nearest major shopping area/store/mall
*What is distance to site(s) above from your residence.
*Would you prefer not to have to travel to do your shopping
*Do you prefer the personal attention you get in shopping at a smaller store
*Do you feel that Mega Stores destroy small town life by closing many smaller business that can't compete with national buying power
*Do you expect some trade offs for enjoying a small town atmosphere
Reply:Hey a book was writtent his year called the walmart way, i checked it out from my local library on CD and listened to it on the way to work...listen to it, you will get all kinds of insight...
Ask them to rate the "shopping experience" agains kmart, and target.....
Ask them to rate the cleanliness of the store, comared to other stores
Ask to rate the value as compared to other retailers.

Anyone got any ideas for a good survey topic for high school students?
I need to come up with a good survey topic for high school students.
Anyone got any G rated ideas for a good survey topic? and then i need to come up with around 5 good survey questions and the choices for the survey questions can only be:
strongly disagree
disagree
neutral
agree

any ideas for a good topic? what to do you think high school students are interested in?
thanks!!
Anyone got any ideas for a good survey topic for high school students?
Well, lol...lol...what a High School student would be interested in (SEX) should not be a Survey question, let alone put into writing.
How about, "If you were a High School student in 1968 Graduating and eligible for the DRAFT (Viet Nam War, useless like the Iraq war) and Guys are dodging the DRAFT, WOULD YOU" .....then let them use the 5 choices?

Why do you like or enjoy answering poll / survey questions?
Aside from the 2 points, what is it about these that appeals to you enough that you're surfing this category?
Why do you like or enjoy answering poll / survey questions?
I like to feel that I know everything. When I see a question that I can give an answer to, then it gives me a chance to feel that I am special because I know the answer.
When my answer gets chosen as best answer...that is the proudest moment for me.
Usually in casual conversation with my friends, whatever happens that my friends might mention, I think of it as a problem that might be solved. I like to ask followup questions and then propose ideas. It is not really a good habit, because sometimes my friends feel that I am treating them as stupid.
But in Yahoo questions and answers...I can write as many answers I like. After all, the questioners ASKED... so I can let myself go with free advice.

The biggest one, reliability.
My '97 Honda Civic Ex now has 200,400 miles and it's just now broke in. Two weeks ago was the first time I ever had it in the shop and that was for new CV joints (which was less then $400 with an oil change).
See how many Ford owners can boast this?

It seems I've struck a chord with a die hard Ford owner...I'll race you for pinks, Mr. Ford truck man!!!

2. Do you think parents are shifting some of their responsibilities on to you?
3. What do you do when some of your students are exceptionally bright and others are not as quick to learn?
4. What subject(s) do you wish you had more time for in school?
5. Is there any subject/topic you think children should NOT be learning in school?
6. Do you think pop culture has changed the behavior of the average student over the years? (ex. ruder, changes in the way they dress)
7. What type of lessons do students seem to enjoy most? (ex. reading together, working in groups)
8. Do students who have a difficult home life suffer academically?
9. What method of punishment is most effective? (ex. writing name on chalkboard, detention)
10. Do you feel preparation for standardized tests take away from regular subject learning?
Can any Teachers answer a survey of 10 questions about school for me?
I teach Spanish to MIddle School students.
1. Yes, I think many teachers overuse homework. I personally feel that there should be no more than 20 minutes of homework per subject, per night in middle school.
2.Absolutely!!! I have actually had parents tell me on the phone that I need to deal with whatever problems their child has because it is "my job". Unfortunately, when you are dealing with parents who don't take responsibility for properly raising their child, then you as the teacher are then in charge of trying to not only teach the kids academics, but also social skills and how to succeed outside the classroom, and not end up in jail or worse.
3 I try to vary the activities so that my brighter students who catch on quickly can move along and even elaborate or incorporate more into their project or lesson. I use a variety of teaching strategies so that all types of learners are reached.
4. I wish I had more time to do hands-on projects.
5. No, I think that all the subjects taught at my school are appropriate and worthwhile.
6. Definitely- the way kids speak to other kids, as well as to adults. I find more and more that kids try to speak to adults as if we are their peers. As far as the way they dress, our school has a strict dress code, but there are always the few who try to get past it.
7. My students love doing group activities that don't involve a lot of writing.
8. Yes, most of the time. I have so many kids who tell me stories that are so heart-breaking!
9. I find that if the students are responsible for their own behavior and consequences, then it is much more effective. We come up with a mission statement as well as expected behaviors at the beginning of the year. That way, the students have created the rules and consequences, not me.
10. Yes!!!!
Reply:middle school social studies 6-8th
1. no...not enough
2. most have already, at least where i teach...we feed the kids, give them supplies and watch them sometimes until 9-10pm in after school...
3. give them extra material on the topic, ask them to do some more research pn their own...this rarely happens today due to the homogeneous grouping of classes now...most classes have kids that all work on the same level...
4. science and technology
5. we SHOULD NOT HAVE to teach things like basic hygiene and common sense things these kids should be learning at home or at least before they get to 6th grade...
6. yes, but it is not just pop culture...people are getting stupider and prouder of it...there is a stigma in my school of being a smart kid...granted the "smartest" kid in my school still only meets 70% of the standards he should...too many parents who are not well enough educated themselves raisding kids who will turn out to be even less educated...it will just spiral downward exponentially...
7. hands on, creative opportunities where there is really no right or wrong answer, low stress activities, field trips...
8. they can, i have seen cases where students who came from a poor home life acted out, failed classes, drank and did drugs, got sexually involved at an early age, even got pregnant...then there are others who use it as a motivation to do well and be able to work their way out of a bad situation...unfortunately there are fewer of these types...
9. nothing...in my school kids do not fear any consequence, they relish being suspended or sent to the alternative program...it is all a big joke...
10. yes, yes and yes...teachers are forced to divert from their curriculum and teach specially prepared packets that focus on a 'skilll of the week' that will be needed on a state or city test...very often teachers who are not experienced at teaching math or language atrs do a poor job and actually end up misinforming the kids...
Reply:I teach Language Arts and Social Studies to Grades 7 and 8.
1. I don't think children in my school get too much homework. I think about ninety minutes per week per academic subject is appropriate. I also think the work should not require students to use textbooks because it's bad for students' backs to have to carry five books in their backpack each day.
2. Definitely. We're not just supposed to teach the curriculum, we're also supposed to teach manners, common sense, critical thinking, sex ed, social skills and even some religious and political information.
3. I differentiate my instruction. For more information, see any of the books by Carol Tomlinson that are published by the ASCD. They're available on Amazon.
4. I think school already strikes a good balance between subjects.
5. I don't feel that religious education and/or religiously-themed activities belong in public schools OR publicly-funded Catholic/Protestant schools. [Which obviously means I don't believe Catholic/Protestant schools should receive tax funding.]
6. I'm a new teacher, but the students I work with today are a lot more polite and well-mannered than my classmates were at that age. Every grade is different... sometimes it's a bad grade and you just can't wait until they hit Grade 12, other times you want that group of students to stick around forever.
7. Students enjoy learning through doing, not learning through reading textbooks and taking notes. Students enjoy learning when they can use the skills and knowledge in a real-world setting. Students enjoy learning when they have choice and are given a variety of ways to approach the subject matter so that it becomes personally relevant to them.
8. Definitely. Students who are worried about their parents' divorce or whether or not there will be food on the table that night can't be expected to concentrate 100% on their classwork. Schools need to acknowledge, respect and accommodate that.
9. The best "punishment" is a serious, face-to-face conversation. For more info on why things like writing lines and detentions don't work, read about Behaviourism.
10. Absolutely. Standardized tests don't reflect the ways that a person would use their skills and knowledge in the real world. We should be preparing students for LIFE, not for a test. I would like to see standardized tests be used to measure TEACHERS' effectiveness-- not students'!

1. My students do not get too much homework, but my 4th grade grandson does. He is only supposed to have homework from one subject a night, but that doesn't include the spelling each week and the vocabulary each week and the math drill each week.
2. Oh my gosh yes. Parents want me to be the heavy so they can be their kids friend.
3. Have the bright ones tutor the others, bring the slower ones in for tutoring.
4. science
5. no
6. Yes. Students have less respect for adults, for women, for property. They have more inappropriate language at younger ages.
7. Group work, hands on activities
8. Yes, they can't keep their mind on their studies. Too much going on at home.
9. Calling home. Talking to coaches or band directors.
10. Yes. I cannot do the fun things for worrying about drilling in the content that will be covered on the test.
Reply:1. I dont know the average amount of homework, but as a teacher and a parent I think an hour a day is the absolute maximum. Anything after that is not likely to be done due to fatigue, family plans, social life, etc. So as a teacher in a 4x4, I give no more than 15 minutes of homework a night.
2. Yes. I don't know how many parents I've called about their kids who won't work, behave, etc..., and the parent tells me to figure something out because they don't know what to do either...
3. If I catch it early, I try to get them into an honors/Ap class. If not, I try to get them to mentor the slower students.
4. I think P.E is the most neglected/overlooked subject. Most high schools only reqire 2 years and many kids can bypass this with R.O.T.C. or some other elective. I firmly believe that P.E. daily (not health and education but exercise) should be required of all teachers and students.
5. No. To be well rounded everything possible must be offered.
6. Yes. PDA and inappropriate language are more prevelant now than in the previous decade.
7. The students enjoy group work the most. Unfortunately, it is also the style that they will talk the most and work the least.
8. Yes. But a heads up to the teacher and a little compassion by the teacher as well as a little forgiveness during the time in question can be constructive.
9. Personally, I think doing extra book work on topic is most effective. First, they might actually learn something and second, they don't want to do it.
10. Yes. I think standardized testing which can determine whether a student graduates or gets promoted is wrong. In my book that is just punishing kids who aren't good standardized test takers (and most aren't).

What are the usual questions in making a market survey before putting up a restaurant?
First off you should check with all the business owners and discuss their business and ask them how busy they are and what kind of food they like. Also if there is a supermarket, ask the customers what kind of restaurant and kind of foods they like. Also, if you are taking over an existing restaurant then find out why it failed. My personal opinion is that I would not take over an existing restaurant... I hope thta helps and gives you some ideas. Also try and make up some samples off the menu for public sampling...
What are the usual questions in making a market survey before putting up a restaurant?
To whom will this survey be directed? Everyone in a 2 mile radius of the restaurant or passersby? That will determine some of the questions. You will want to know how often they eat in a restaurant, their favorite types of food, family size.

Bleach (the anime/manga) Survey Questions!!!?
So boredom has consumed my life once again and now I feel like doing some surveys!!! So just answer the questions and the most creative will win! My answers are gonna be set off by hyphens. Let's begin ^.^
1. What kind of 'soul' are you (Arrancar, Quincy, Shinigami, Your made up kind, ect.) -- Shinigami/Elementor.
2. What is the name of your weapon? And if you did not choose Shinigami, what is it?-- Zanpaktou Eisha yu_gao (Shining Moonflower)
3. Who is your arch nemesis? --Stark
4. Who is your loyal companion? --Kyoraku Shunsui
5. How would your final battle end? -- I would stab Stark in his gut only to find out that Stark had done the same in his last breath... Kyoraku carrying me to the squad 4 main hall
6. What rank would you be in your squad/fraccion/espada/ect? -- Squad 5 replacement captain.
7. Would you rather die as a hero or continue living? -- Die a hero
Bleach (the anime/manga) Survey Questions!!!?
1. Shinigami
2. Zanpakutou Kaze no Kage (Wind and Shadow)
3. Ichimaru Gin
4. Zaraki Kenpachi
5. He stabbed me in the chest while smiling coldly and saying " not bad... but i'm much more better than you, your captain is next..".... at least i have given him some damage so my captain can beat his candyass .....
6. Rank 3 in Squad 11
7. Die as a hero
2 a zanpakutou named (maybe) Hikaru
3 Aizen
4 Ukitake Juushirou
5 i would kill Aizen but die in the process
6 i would be a captain level shinigami but occpying the 13th division vice-captain post
7 die as a hero
Reply:1. Shinigami (which are also Death Gods from the manga Death Note, hehe)
2. Okami Toboe (wolf howl)
3. Byakuya Kuchiki
4. Shūhei Hisagi
5. After Byakuya used his bankai with his blades of flower petals, I would be completely scarred and bleeding, and a with my final strength would perform my bankai which is a hundred wolf bites to Byokuya's body and piercing wolf howls that rupture the ear drums and cause the brain mental damage, and then with my last breath I would stab him in his heart and watch him fall.
6. 7th squad, Liutenant
7. Actually, continue living. I know that sounds kinda bad, but whatever.
Really interesing question by the way, good job!!!
Reply:1. - I'd most likely be a Shinigami who's secretly a vizard, I'm a good person but sometimes my evil leaks out. ^_^
2. - My Zanpakutoh would be Enshou Rakumei (炎色落命; Flame-colored Death.) It's shikai would be "Blacken the heavens." I wouldn't have a bankai yet, but it'd be scary like the Gate of Hell if I had one!
3. - My arch-nemesis would be my hollow side, as well as Halibel, Tousen, and Aizen.
4. - Hitsugaya and Renji. I think I'd personally get along very well with these guys. I'd save Hitsugaya from Matsumoto, and be a listen ear to Renji.
5. - For Halibel, I have no idea what her powers are, since she hasn't been shown fighting yet. However, since my zanpakutoh is darkness-based, it'd utilize the constant night of Heuco Mundo. Along with my hollow powers, I'd release a powerful attack and she'd burn in dark flames. It'd be a very close match and I'd barely win, but the fact that the fate of both worlds rest on these matches would compel me to fight to the bitter end despite the consequences.
6. - 4th seat in the 10th or 11th division (It's not taken!!!!)
7. - I'd want to continue living. In Soul Society, the Shinigami are basically already dead. When they die, they return to being part of Soul Society. So I'd rather live, to see how things turned out in the end. To be able to tell everyone of my and the groups great heroics.
[I think you just helped me create an OC for a fanfic! XD]
---------
Note to IzUk4g3: that is sooo something I can see Ichimaru saying/doing. Chills down my spine!
2.Kaze Kamisori(Wind Razor). Command is Slice. Shikai looks like a black sythe that can become a polearm. Bankai gives 2 sythes, metal claws on my hands and feet, huge metal bat-like wings on my back, and a grey mantle.
3.Aizen and Nnortia
4.Chad ,Nel, Urahara, and Ichigo. Nel just rocks and Urahara is kinda like Obi-Wan.
5.After a deadly dance of dance against Nnorita, we confront Aizen after leaving Hueco Mundo. The battle is hard. Aizen is about to finish of Chad and Ichigo when Urahara come and helps us. During the fight I lose my left arm. We manage to defeat him and save Soul Society. My arm is replaced after the fight with a metal one.
6.Squad 3 replacement captain
7.Continue living by training others to fight and protecting the innocent.
Reply:1) I'd want to be a Vizard, their ********* kickass. Just look at Ichigo
2) I'd want Zangetsu, the hollow version. The Dark moon fang hollowized just looks so ******** up!!!!!!!
3) Anyone that gets in my ********* way
4) I'd want the Vizards as my companion
5) Self Sacrifice, thats a loyal way to die
6) I'd want to be the one that kills everyone, Number 1 beotches
7) I'd want to die if it was for someone important enough, if not ****** em. I'll kill everyone ^_^

Would you take a survey with QUESTIONS in it?
1. How would you put out the fire if something you were cooking caught on fire?
2. Have you ever captured a princess to use her as bait for catching knights?
3. When you catch a knight, do you roast him over a bonfire, put him in the oven, eet him raw or just breathe fire at him?
4. If Dragon stopped referring to herself in third person, would that mean the apocalypse is coming?
Thank you. These are all questions. This is a survey in the Polls %26amp; Surveys section. Dragon made sure it was categorized correctly and that it was all questions. Thank you.

This is kind of a follow up from one of my other questions and its kind of a mini survey for women?
When you first had sex did it hurt ?
Was it because of your hymen breaking or just because it felt uncomfortable the first time ?
or maybe it didnt hurt at all for you ?
This is kind of a follow up from one of my other questions and its kind of a mini survey for women?
i didnt hurt..just felt weird in a way...wasnt till after i was 30 that i enjoyed sex as a part of the act of love between 2 people...
Reply:First time i had sex it hurt a lot for there was two reasons for these 1 iwas scared too death and my body tightened up and couldnt relax,2 the men i went to bed with was in a hurry didnt know i was a virgin.the hymen hurted also it bleed some but after we was having sex it stopped bleeding ,once learning to relax it was great after that.
Reply:It hurts for some, and not for others. An awful lot depends on how sexually mature you are - ie. how ready you are for sex. If you're ready and have a caring and understanding partner, then your first sexual encounter shouldn't be painful - perhaps a tad uncomfortable though.
Reply:i lost my virginity at the age of 21. It mostly did not hurt because my hymen was only partially intact from using tampons etc. And we had lots of foreplay and my partner was more experienced than me so he knew how to make it more pleasurable.
Reply:The first time it hurt and that was kinda a combination of my hymen breaking and because i was uncomfortable.

Family feud : How do you get to be in the surveys for the show questions?
I have always wanted to be part of the ones who answer the survey questions. Does anyone know how to get to?
Family feud : How do you get to be in the surveys for the show questions?
We asked a hundred people this exact same question......
Reply:All they do is ask random people in the sreet.
Reply:There is a link to their address on the sight. www.familyfeud.com
From there you will find info on how to be on the show, what to send, and so on. Also you can get tickets if you just want to be in the audience.
Reply:I maybe wrong, but thought the survey was done among the studio audience. wouldn't be the 1st or the last.

Solid waste management survey questions?
as homeowners, what qs would u like to respond/to be asked if a survey/questionnaire was conducted in ur residence?
eg - What method do you use to dispose off garbage currently? Who do you think should clean the streets, garbage drums and drains in your area? Would u be willing to participate in a recycle/buy back program? something like those..
Solid waste management survey questions?
whenever you are going to conduct survey or managment plan for solid waste, u need to know what kind of waste the particular community is generating and in how much amount.
questions asked could be
1. What is the estimated amount of waste produced by your home daily.
i. 5-10 Kg
ii. 10-15 Kg
iii. 15-20 kg
iv Moe than 20 Kg
2. Waste generated by your home consists of
i. Papers 100% 75% 50% 25% less than 25%
ii. Disposables 100% 75% 50% 25% :ess than 25%
iii. Food Items 100% 75% 50% 255 less than 25%
iv, Garden waste 100% 75% 50% 25% less than 25%
3. Is there any waste collection mechanism provided by the Govt. or Private business holders.
4. Do they have provided any waste segregating bins to homes or all the waste is collected in one bin.
4. Do you have nay facility to compost waste like kitchen items and garden waste in your home.
5. In your opinion what is the best method to dispose of waste.
6. Will you be ready to pay some extra money to purchase recycleable products.
etc.
Reply:1. will you participate in a recycle/buy back program?
2. would you be willing to bring your recyclables to a drop off center to help cut costs?
3. what suggestions do you have to make sure your neighborhood separates their garbage and recyclables?
4. are you willing to use reusable grocery bags every time you shop?
Reply:How do you currently dispose of materials containing chemicals?
How do you dispose of items that are not collected by your local waste management company?
What, if anything, prevents you from recycling/ how can the county make it more convenient for you to recycle.
How often are there recycling pick ups in your neighborhood. Do you find this adequate?
Sorry, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Reply:I worked as Refuse Control Officer for a couple of years, and yes, there are 'trash police' Virginia. The questions are fine, but as for cleaning, I had an inmate crew clean out ditches and drains. We have not only dirty roads, ditches, drainage problems, but it keep inmates busy. The pay went to working off fines, and room and board. When they broke even, at half time they qualified for work release. We have hundreds of thousands of roads in need of repair; city, county and state buildings crumbling; and bridges, ditches, watersheds in danger. If they do the crime, let them spend some time working on projects that our government can not afford to pay full price to contractors.
Reply:1. does cost affect your choices in recyclable vs non recyclable
2. on average how many cases of canned pop do you go through in one week
3. would you be willing to bundle newspapers and leave them on your porch or curb if someone would be willing to pick them up
4. do you or would you participate in carpooling
Reply:If you would be given resposibility to manage your locality? What will you do?
Reply:yours are fine....i take my trash to the county dump...we dont have any drains..we have culverts and i think it should be the county that cleans them to keep the water running thru them and not on the road...i would love to have a recycling place here there is nothing though...

What do you do when you can't think of anymore Poll & Survey questions?
Do read the answers to other people's questions and answer questions or do you just go ahead and get off the site and go do something else?

I go to Jokes and Riddles. Or, sometimes, when I'm in a weird mood, I go to a different part of the site and actually give advice. I know, it's rare, but, just once in a while, mind you, I do what they made the site for.

How do you place already asked questions into the polling and survey section if they are still open?
Just curious because I asked one about wearing your seatbelt.. and it really belongs in here instead.

they said last night that yahoo would take care of re-catgorizing questions as they saw fit... an answer from katie at answers, if i'm right.
i don't know that you or i can do anything about moving them ourselves. i'll take a look back and see if i can find those comments...

I don't think you can re-categorize it

I need help Making up 8 questions for a Survey about Children and Cell Phones!? HELP?
It has to be business related in a way of children using cell phones and costing their parents money! THankkss so much for the help. Pleaseeee give me ideas and ill return the favor and answerr ur questions! I have a brainn block help!!?!!
I need help Making up 8 questions for a Survey about Children and Cell Phones!? HELP?
1. How old should a child be before he/she gets a cell phone?
2. Should a child be allowed full access to cell phone services? (Text Messaging, Internet)
3. Is there limits to how many minutes the child can use?
4. Due to the risk of the child loosing a cell phone, should I get a refurbished or a brand new phone?
5. Is cell phone insurance a good thing for children?
6. Can I limit the numbers my child calls to (parents, family, and 911)
7. Should I let my child keep the phone 24/7 or take it away when he/she gets home from school?
8. Is there any restrictions to stopping text messaging after a certain amount have been sent/recieved?
Reply:I would ask questions like this:
1) How much money is spent per month on cell phones total in the household?
2) Are there any users of cell phones under the age of 18? If so, what are their ages?
3) What kind of cell phone plan does your family have?
4) Does your cell phone plan allow for texting? If not, how much extra per month is this costing?
5) Do you put any restrictions on your children's cell phone use? Certain amount of time? Allow only some features to be used (ie: no texting)? Spending limit?
6) Are the cell phones your children use primarily used for communicating with the family or are they allowed free use of the phone to call/text friends?
7) How many cell phones are in use in your family?
8) Do you feel that your cell phone bills are higher than average, average, or below average in comparison to other families?
These are a few to hopefully get you started.
Reply:Do you feel that your parents limit your cell phone to nights or weekends because it costs them minuets?
Reply:If you're personally against children having cellphones, than ask a question along the lines, do you think children should have cellphones or do you think cell phones for children are a waste of money? Why or why not? Then you can you ask how cell phones are beneficiary to children excluding personal cases such as parking is horrible at school. And then elaborate more.

Survey question: Has anyone in your family developed cancerous moles or melanoma recently?
Has anyone in your family developed cancerous moles or melanoma recently (after the ban on CFC’s)?
I am conducting a survey for our school project. So it would be very helpful if you provide me with your educational level, experience, background and age.
Survey question: Has anyone in your family developed cancerous moles or melanoma recently?
My fair skinned brother has just had surgery for melanoma. He always wears long sleeved shirts, a hat, and sun screen. He is in his 50s and this is not the first time. I'm a CPA with 1 year of graduate school.

Survey Question: Can we ever recover the depleted Ozone Layer?
I am conducting a survey for our school project. So it would be very helpful if you provide me with your educational level, experience, background and age.
Do you think we'd ever be able to recover the depleted Ozone layer?
Survey Question: Can we ever recover the depleted Ozone Layer?
cj g is so far wrong its not funny. I cannot understand how people can confuse GW and the supposed hole in the ozone layer and then pretend to give advice on the matter. It just goes to show how people are ill informed about the environment when they think that they are absolutely right and demand that you change your ways to suit their way of thinking.

Its takes 45 years for gases released in the northern hemisphere to drift to the Equator, and to be punched up to the upper atmosphere by tropical storms, and then drift to the north pole. Action of uv (ultra Violet) in sunlight early in Feb at temps of minus 60 c causes reactions which deplete the ozone layer for a month or so. The rest of the year it recovers and grows back to almost normal. We don't know why no one tells you all this. Early summer sunbathing is more dangerous than late summer sunbathing.
Obviously cfc's released in 1962 are now reaching the poles.
Back then hair sprays had cfc's and ships coming in for refit just blew off 3 or 4 tons of cfc's, before docking.
China and India are now using cfc's in the same way that Europe did, saying, you had your turn, now it's our turn.
That is very depressing.
Reply:Yes, the ozone layer is constantly repleneshing itself as ultraviolet light breaks down oxygen in the upper atmosphere. The Earth has probably had a strong ozone layer for as long as it has had oxygen and will continue to do so. The Human impact on ozone levels is minimal, if not non-existent. The theory that CFC's deplete ozone is based solely on the fact that CFC's contain chlorine, which can break down ozone. CFC's are very heavy molecules and are unlikely to be able to travel into the upper atmosphere. Further human emissions of CFC's even at their peak were insignificant compared to chlorine emissions from natural sources.
1) The ozone is thinnest above the south pole, which is inconsistent with the expected atmospheric mixing of human CFC's, CFC's are too heavy to be transported 40 miles above the Earth, and even if they did, they should congregate and do the most damage in the Northern Hemisphere where the density of use is highest
2) The hole in the ozone layer above Antarctica is fluctuates throughout the year, thinning and thickening and has done so for as long as observation has been made.
3) The thinnest area of the Ozone layer above Antarctica is located above the volcanic island of Mt Erebus which actively spews out over 1000 tonnes of superheated Chlorine gas per DAY! Mt Erebus alone puts out more chlorine per year than human activities at their peak put out in a decade! More thant this Mt Erebus is not the only active chlorine producing volcano out there. If the ozone layer can survive this, as it has throughout geological history, it should continue to do so just fine.
Reply:The ozone layer is already recovering according to recent reports thanks to the reduction in the use of fluorocarbons. Heard this a few months ago.
PS don't confuse global warming with ozone hole: two different things

My Aunt on my father side had melanoma and had to get some moles removed. My twin sister and I did as well because we had suspicious looking moles. It is genetic, and from what I gathered, it runs on the male side. Don't quote me on that though. If you have any more questions just ask. I live with a doctor and have researched it myself, so feel free to ask me any questions

Worldview questions survey assignment?
I am supposed to do a survey of at least one person asking the following questions. Thank you to everyone who answers! I will put the question to a vote to determine the ten points.
Where did you come from?
Why are you here?
Where are you going?
Do you live according to absolutes?
What can you know and how do you discover knowledge?
How do you explain human nature?
What is right and what is wrong?
Worldview questions survey assignment?
thru parents
cuz God made my parents
who knows? you mean this life?? not specific
unsure what youre asking
Im born again
Satan is tempting ppl
10 commands when broken is sin
Reply:1. I come from Australia originally, lived in New Guinea, New Zealand, and now in the United States.
2. I am here because of evolution and my parents ability to procreate.
3. I am going to one day die, and have a very valuable, short period to make a difference in the lives of others.
4. In some areas of my life yes, but I typically try to look at both sides of each equation, in order to live a reasoned, productive life that is beneficial to others.
5. Knowledge is a compilation of the discovery of other human beings. I gain it from listening and reading to them, and even by exploring on my own.
6. Human nature is very complicated, but it appears right now as if empathy is a key to what makes us human. In the past we separated ourselves from animals using 'self awareness' and the use of tools, and emotional capacity, but the more we actually study animal behavior, the more we are finding that we are very alike.
The ability to empathize seems to be uniquely human.
6. Right and wrong are determined by society, through cultural acceptance and logical reasoning. For instance, I consider nudity acceptable, because I have lived in parts of the world where it is a way of life. Other people in the states, consider exposed nipples as sinful.
Basic right and wrong comes from logical understanding about life itself and civilization. For instance, most humans consider murder to be wrong, because, it is not beneficial to us. The same applies to stealing, violence etc....
People claim that morality comes from a deity, but the law associated to most deities includes sacrifice and immoral rules, that we have grown out of in this modern age.

Why am I here? To get paid.
If you mean-the big HERE-I am here to show love to the world, to develop my talents, and procreate.
Where am I going? Home after work. Then to rehearsal.
The big Where? Going to die.
Absolutes? I guess, although I can't think of any.
I can know a lot of information, some intuition, and I discover by reading, living, making mistakes that I survive, others' experiences.
I don't. I think people are innocent, a blank slate and are taught to hate and be stupid. Without guidance, a baby would grow up to be selfish and cruel, unsociable, and violent. Unless he was killed first.
With guidance a person can learn to be altruistic, kind, peaceful and unselfish. It will help us to continue the species.
What is right and wrong depends almost entirely on your culture. In most cultures, murder is wrong. In most cultures, love/family is a good. Not in all.

Why am I here - Rev. 4:11 says I am here for God's pleasure.
Where am I going - to heaven when I die.
Yes - I live according to absolutes. Man cannot live by bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. I believe God.
What can I know and how do I discover knowledge. I ask of God who gives wisdom, knowledge and understanding to all who ask. I am commanded to study the Word of God.
How do I explain human nature - We are all sinners because of the fall when sin and death came into the world. God sent Jesus to reconnect us to God by believing in God's Son, Jesus Christ and what Jesus did on the Cross by taking my sins upon Himself so I could have eternal life if I believe in Him. We have a sin nature until Salvation. When the Holy Spirit comes in we put on the nature of Christ, because the Holy Spirit purifies and refines us.
Obeying God is right and disobeying God is wrong. God is truth.

What can you know and how do you discover knowledge? By reading the Bible and listing for the voice of God.
How do you explain human nature? It is evil by nature, meaning that no one is perfect, and they all make mistakes. However; humans have the ability to love, which is the power of eternity.
What is right and what is wrong? Whatever the Bible says is right and wrong. There are many lists in it regarding what is right and wrong. Here is my favorite.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

**Where did you come from?
The spirit world
**Why are you here?
To learn the lessons of living on the material plane.
**Where are you going?
When I am done with this one, another incarnation presumably.
**Do you live according to absolutes?
Yes. I do live by some absolutes.
**What can you know and how do you discover knowledge?
We can discover knowledge through a variety of sources. Other people, books, experience, formal education - to name a few.
**How do you explain human nature?
Just as with all animals, we have an instinct to survive and multiply. Everything beyond that is a result of cultural development, personal development and choices.
**What is right and what is wrong?
Right is that which promotes goodness and wholesomeness in the community. Wrong is that which is harmful to other people, animals, the environment or the community.
Just off the top of my head. :)

human nature is... complex. it is what makes us different from other animals, we have reason and the ability to know right from wrong.
wrong is when you hurt yourself or someone else. right follows what human nature leads us to and wrong goes against it.

5) no, because it made me so upset to see all the beautiful animals that are just being thrown away - it breaks my heart. I do go there to get my pets though. I try to support the shelter in different ways, like donating dog food and collecting old blankets for the animals to lay on

2) The cost is silly compared to the cost of care. I spend whatever it takes to give them the BEST care possible. I dont want half-a**ed care based on some silly half-a**ed so-called pet HMO!!!

2. not offered for most of my pets and not offered in my area. even if it was availale though I don't think I would get it because most pet insurance companies make you pay the vet bill first and then fill out forms and send in your reciepts to be reimbursed. If I wanted to do it that way I would just pay the whole bill myself like I do now anyhow.
3. half of them are. it could be dangerous or is not possible to spay or neuter the other ones so they live in cages seperated by sex.(rats, fish, anoles)
4. My dogs do but none of the other ones are required to.
5. I woud love to volunteer at our local animal shelter but it's 1/2 an hour away and I don't drive so there is no way that I could get there when everyone else is at work. (My vet is in town so I have no worries there for those who would wonder about how I would get them there.)

2. I think the amount I would pay for health care would be less than the total i would have to pay for insurance. Although rat insurance was only 20 dollars, its not like her health care was really very much more

3.Are your pets spayed or neutered? Neither, Fiscally not an option at this time
4. Does your animal have licensed tags? Yes, they won't groom my dogs without it.
5. Do you volunteer at your local animal shelter? No, The Local shelter near me euthanizes dogs after a certain amount of time of them being there. My empathetic nature won't allow me to be a part of that.
