What are the usual questions in making a market survey before putting up a restaurant?

First off you should check with all the business owners and discuss their business and ask them how busy they are and what kind of food they like. Also if there is a supermarket, ask the customers what kind of restaurant and kind of foods they like. Also, if you are taking over an existing restaurant then find out why it failed. My personal opinion is that I would not take over an existing restaurant... I hope thta helps and gives you some ideas. Also try and make up some samples off the menu for public sampling...

What are the usual questions in making a market survey before putting up a restaurant?
To whom will this survey be directed? Everyone in a 2 mile radius of the restaurant or passersby? That will determine some of the questions. You will want to know how often they eat in a restaurant, their favorite types of food, family size.
