Im a patient transporter at a small hospital in Florida. I was wondering what kind of questions Jcaho would ask me when they do their survey. I fall under support staff as I do not have any medical licences. I just want to be prepared when they come.

Reply:Know your department's policies. Even though you aren't confined to a specific area, you do have a "home base". Good ideas would be situations of emergency, safety, where to find answers if you don't know them right off, identification, and your role within your facility's emergency plans.
Reply:Chances are good you won't be asked anything, however, they can ask you anything. Maybe something about universal precautions, or any safety measures you employ moving a patient. Just remember patient confidentiality above everything else and if you are unsure, refer them to your supervisor.
