What are some good questions I can ask for my survey?

I'm going to do some research on Filipinos/as in the medical field. What are some good questions I can ask? I'm interested in how and when they came to american and why they chose the medical field. those are just some of the basics... what else?

What are some good questions I can ask for my survey?
Where do you live? I know a lot of Filipinos in the medical field. A friend of mine is a nurse and he's Filipino.

Some questions you should ask are:

Why they selected their career?

What influenced this decision?

If you were not in the medical field, what would you be doing?

What's the difference between the medical field in the states and the Phillipines?

How long did it take you to complete your education?

Where there any stumbling blocks you had to face?

Financial aid issues? Funding for school?

Adapting to the medical environment?

Any cultural challenges studying at American schools?

How long they have been in American and if they feel like they have assimilated to American culture?

Reply:You can ask what the differences are between practicing in the Phillipines and America. America has some pretty rigorous things set up by the AMA for foreign doctors entering and practicing in this country, you may ask how difficult it was for them to make that transition. Also, I would ask if they planned on going back anytime to practice in their home country (either on a temporary basis or long-term) and why.
Reply:What has been your greatest asset you'll bring to medicine coming from the Philippines?

Do you find yourself being discriminated against as a foreigner in your program/field?
