A readers of romance survey question?

I am a romance writer as well as a reader. I am curious about a plot question. Do you as a romance reader prefer plot where the girl has to compete with or is the one suffering jealousy because of a female who is after her man or do you prefer a plot where the guy has to compete or is jealous of another mans attentions to the female in the book? I personally prefer it when the man is the jealous one. For me I find that much more of a good read than if it is the other way around. What are your views on this?

A readers of romance survey question?
I like it when men are competing over the woman in the story. It makes it more interesting when the character has a choice to make.
Reply:I like it when a guy is jealous. It's soo sweet.

When a girl is jealous, it just makes her look kind of bitchy. I don't know why.
Reply:I like them all!
Reply:I am afraid romaces are not my cup of tea, but you should meet my sister! She writes historic romances (usually set in the Civil War)

I read Sci Fi and Terror/mystery.

Reply:I could see both plots being interesting, depending on the characters, the setting, the twists in the plot, etc.

Why don't you write the one you prefer, then when you are done, get started on the other, just to see where it takes you?

Research some true crime literature. See if you can find any instances where a female used violence or broke the law to put her opponent at a disadvantage. That could be interesting.
Reply:i like both. lol but i think it depends on who's P.O.V your doing. So if its mainly in the girls pov, then you should have her be jealous of another girl. it'll add conflict. and if its in the guy's pov, then vice versa.
