Survey Question: What (in your opinion) is the least stressful job in the world?

Survey Stipulation: The job you select must make at least the average US Income. In 2006, the median annual household income was $48,201.00 according to the US Census Bureau. So what do you think? Please pick a real job. Saying "i am happy with my job situation, therefore it doesnt matter what my job is" doesnt count.. i am really trying to objectively compare stress levels at various jobs. thanks..

Survey Question: What (in your opinion) is the least stressful job in the world?
Your question has been studied by U.S. policy wonks. I wonder where that study is? I remember that architect was the least stressful professional job in that federal study.

Here's an interesting link that discusses workplace stress: http://www.stress.org/job.htm

Finally, there's a problem with your question. "Household median income" and "average U.S. income" are two completely different numbers. There are often more than one person in a household, meaning household income will be higher than the income for one person.

I suggest you go with "median U.S. income" (for individuals), which is about $26K/year.
Reply:I will have to disagree with the other guy. Self employment is not stress free. You still have to worry about getting the job done in order to get paid, but you don't get any of the benefits such as paid time off or insurance!

I work in accounting, and my job is not stress free. However, since I like where I work, it's all fine and good. I would recommend finding your passion and going from there. For example if you like cooking, be a chef, if you like kids, be a teacher....ect.

Best of luck to you!
Reply:Being self-employed is probably the least stressful. You are your own boss, and can choose when and how often to work. Some people that are self-employed work a couple days a week then play golf and relax the rest of the week...
