I have a persuasive essay that I am writing for a college class, and am taking a survey. Note that all of these questions are asked in a mindset of "If video game playing time is moderated...".

1. It helps with hand and eye coordination.


2. Personally, I don't think it makes people violent, enough to the point where they go out and shoot people. It might make people angry where they throw down their controller in disgust because a level is too difficult.

4. I think so. There are scientific studies that support question 3 and 4.

9. Not really anymore unless there's a game that I must play, then I'll play it for several hours at a time until I finish it.

Reply:1. Depends on the game, some can be used for a historic reference, even though it may be biased. Or learning in general





2. It is a possibility, especially in young children, also perhaps in young people in violent families, this could enforce the behavior witnessed.





3. Perhaps not hand/eye, but it can sharpen the mind to be more aware of things...however with the Wii, hand/eye could be a different story

5. I don't no, i have never felt 'grumpy' however, if you play it for excessive periods of time, ie: 24hr LAN or something, you could end up grumpy from sleep deprivation





7. There is a good chance of your social life being affected, for instance, i know of a few people who play World of Warcraft which has impacted on their social life





8. Depends on the game, i love my strategy, especially WWII based strategy, it will help your strategic skills, however they will only be advanced as far as the limitations of the game.





9. Yes, well before i started work i did, at least 6hrs a day





10. I am somewhere between a Casual and Hardcore gamer, it all depends on how often i work.

Reply:1.depends, for example wii can be because of the movement and using joysticks keeps your thumb working but can also give carpel tunnel maybe as for your eyes i think it cant be much worse than tv(besides the fact that your concentrating more)
