Survey---If you were buying a book, what kind of book would you buy? And why?

This is a survey question from Bellissima Publishing, LLC. We are trying to develop lines of books the market and readers want and/or need. Please take the time to answer. Please give examples of the kinds of books for which you are looking and can't find, as well as the kinds of books you wish were not out on the market and would never purchase. Be specific, please. Use this question as a sounding board. We have asked similar questions, but reponses have not been specific enough or as numerous as we would like.

Please, take a word of advice from a librarian do not lump horror stories in with science fiction, they are not the same thing! And don't call a fantasy book a science fiction book. Nothing drives me crazier than to find a book based on hard science called a fantasy. Or a totally created universe that isn't based on science called science fiction.
Reply:I like non-fiction. Biographies of historical figures are good. I also enjoy philosphy and psychology books that explore current or long-standing issues. I had trouble finding decent books regarding Buddhism and atheism. I am tired of self-proclaimed experts like Dr. Phil.
Reply:People's tastes and interests vary enormously. There are plenty of books I wouldn't buy but that doesn't mean no-one will. The only works that should not be published are badly written ones. There is no subject that is off limits.
Reply:Is this honest, if so your publishing company might be interested in looking at some of what I am doing? have to say that I know a kid that likes manga really good and comics that are in manga
Reply:Right now I would really be in the mood for purchasing travel books, especially humourous ones.
Reply:I generally only buy books I've read and loved or if they'll the sequels to the series I love and just can't wait in line at the library. But if I had to choose, I say something in the Christian Fiction (perferably Christian Romance and Christian Fantasy) section.
Reply:The only books I purchase are signed first editions of a few current mystery writers.

Reply:I mostly buy science fiction and fantasy because I read mostly for enjoyment. I like detective stories both light and a little heavier but I would never buy one of a "real life" murder. I do not like Horror stories. And I would never read romance stories such as harlequin romances. I occasionally read classics such as Moby Dick. Good biographies of well known people (not movie stars) are good too.
